Welcome to the Billis National School Website
Billis NS covers the wider Virginia and Ballyjamesduff area of Co. Cavan. It is situated just off the N3 about 4 miles from Virginia and 2 miles from Ballyjamesduff.
The school is Church of Ireland in ethos but we have a wide range of denominations attending the school.
The original school was build in 1983 and in 2008 a major new extension was added.
At present there are 91 pupils on roll for the 2014-2015 school year. The school operates a multi-class system which is broken down into Junior and Senior in the lower room, 1st and 2nd Class in the lower middle room, 3rd and 4th Class in the upper middle room and finally 5th and 6th Class in the top room. There are 4 full time teachers, a learning resource teacher and an SNA as well as a school secretary. Over the course of the school year this is for example supplemented by a dance teacher, a sports teacher, and art teacher as the need arises.
The school is managed by the Board of Management.
